We're going to start this month's competition off with a mod that's actually just finished its build process – which goes a little against the standard Mod of the Month policy. However, I've been following the work of our crazy German friend FrooP since his mod, Unit: 4, first appeared on our forum over six months ago – and since this is all about the closing of old projects, I'm glad to finally get to add it!

At the time, Froop had already completed quite a bit of his project, which is based on a building from our favourite nuclear-powered game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (note: from now on, I'm dropping all the silly initials and just typing Stalker). Nonetheless, it seems as if there were, well, about six more months of work left to do on it!

The completed project is really a site to behold – extremely reminiscent of the style of our beloved friend CrimsonSky, FrooP has reconstructed an entire area from the video game, leaving you wondering whether you're looking at a model or a computer.

In a very unusual break from tradition, I'm not going to show pictures of the case during the build process – rest assured, you'll see enough of that soon. In the meantime, here's a treat of just a few (literally) of the details present in this mod. There's really no more need for me to talk until the pictures stop...

The case came in second at the latest DCMM (German CaseMod Masters) competition, which is quite an honour. Then again, with work like this, it's also not that much of a surprise!

Of course, you can take a look and see what all the fuss is about yourself by following the overgrown, radioactive path to FrooP's worklog. You'd probably best not do it at night, though – there's no telling what manner of beasts might be looking for unsuspecting onlookers.

While you're checking out FrooP's awesome handywork, make sure to vote for Unit: 4 as April's Mod of the Month if the terrific attention to detail gets your Geiger counter clicking!
